First aid is the immediate assistance provided to the victim of an accident or to someone who was suddenly ill by the attendant, any eyewitness to the event. The necessity and usefulness of their provision is shown by studies in which 45% of accidental deaths and 25% of disabilities would have been avoided if the correct first aid had been given, in time, at the place of the incident.
Similarly, in the case of cardiac arrest, slow treatment dramatically reduces the survival rate, when at 3-4 minutes without oxygenation begin the brain damage, where they become irreversible after passing 10-15 minutes, without the provision of cardiorespiratory resuscitation.
